Google SynthID named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2026

Google DeepMind announces SynthID, its watermarking tool for AI-generated images and video, was named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2026, with over 180 billion images and videos watermarked. TIME notes SynthID is also applied by OpenAI, Nvidia and Kakao, and that Google launched a public detector website in October.
