Google DeepMind team reports Gemini-based autonomous progress on the BB(6) Busy Beaver frontier
A Google DeepMind team including Tom Zahavy and Satinder Singh released a paper describing a Gemini-based pipeline that discovered and formally verified novel Collatz-like accelerations for eleven BB(6) Turing machines, provisionally classifying them as Cryptids. The work targets open-ended mathematical discovery in an uncomputable domain. No safety findings are claimed; the result concerns autonomous discovery and Lean-verified proof pipelines.
